1. Who we are & what this covers

NEURAL CHESS is a mobile game operated by its developer (“NEURAL CHESS”, “we”, “us”, “our”).

This Privacy Policy explains what data we collect when you play NEURAL CHESS through our game client, this website, and the related online services, and how we use and protect it. By using NEURAL CHESS you agree to this policy and to our Terms of Service.

2. The data we collect — and nothing more

NEURAL CHESS is deliberately built around anonymous play. There is no account signup, and we do not ask for your name, email address, phone number, or any other directly identifying information. We collect only the following:

Anonymous device identifier

When you first play, the game generates a random identifier (a GUID) on your device. This identifier is not derived from your hardware, is not linked to your name, email, or any real-world identity, and is used solely to associate your game progress and deck with your installation. In the future we may use Epic Online Services (EOS Connect device-ID authentication) to manage this identifier — see Section 4.

Deck snapshots

A snapshot of your assembled deck (which Bots it contains, their levels, and their trained AI behavior data) is stored on our servers and may be served to other players as an AI-piloted opponent in asynchronous matches. Snapshots are keyed only to your anonymous identifier and contain no personal information.

Match results & match traces

Results of your matches (outcome, score, rating movement) and the deterministic input trace of a match, which our servers replay to verify the result and prevent cheating.

Economy & progression state

Your in-game currency balances, card collection, levels, battle-pass progress, and similar progression data, so your progress is preserved and adjudicated fairly.

We do not collect anything beyond what is described above. The game contains no advertising, no third-party tracking or analytics SDKs, and we do not track you across other websites or apps. We never sell or rent any data.

3. How we use your data

  • To operate the game — saving your progress, deck, and collection against your anonymous identifier;
  • To provide asynchronous multiplayer — serving your deck snapshot to other players as an AI-piloted opponent, and serving theirs to you;
  • To verify match results server-side and keep ratings and rewards fair (anti-cheat);
  • To operate the in-game economy and progression systems;
  • To diagnose problems and keep the service stable and secure;
  • To respond when you contact support.

We process this data because it is necessary to deliver the service you requested, to keep that service fair and secure, and in our legitimate interest in maintaining and improving the game.

4. How we share data

We share data only with:

  • Infrastructure providers that run NEURAL CHESS on our behalf — principally Amazon Web Services (compute, storage, and content delivery; game data is stored in AWS's US East region) — under agreements that limit them to processing data for us.
  • Epic Online Services (Epic Games) — we plan to use EOS Connect device-ID authentication and related player services. When enabled, Epic processes your anonymous device identifier to issue authentication tokens, acting as a service provider for us. Epic's own privacy policy applies to its processing.
  • Other players — only in the form described above: your deck snapshot (contents, levels, trained AI behavior) may appear as an opponent in other players' matches. It carries no personal information and no way for another player to identify or contact you.
  • Legal and safety requirements — where we are required to comply with applicable law or legal process, or to protect the rights, safety, and security of our players, the public, or NEURAL CHESS.

We never sell or rent your data.

5. Where your data is processed

NEURAL CHESS runs on cloud infrastructure in the United States (AWS US East), and service providers may process data in other regions. Where data is transferred across borders, we rely on appropriate safeguards (such as standard contractual clauses) as required by applicable law. Because the data we hold is keyed only to an anonymous identifier, transfer risk to you is inherently limited.

6. Data retention

We keep game data (deck snapshots, match records, economy state) for as long as it is needed to provide the game and keep it fair. Match traces are retained only as long as they remain useful for verification and anti-cheat. Data associated with identifiers that we can no longer serve is periodically deleted or anonymized, except where we must keep limited records to comply with law, resolve disputes, or enforce our Terms.

7. Security

We use industry-standard measures to protect data — encryption in transit (HTTPS/TLS), server-side authorization on every request, and access controls that restrict who can reach stored data. No method of transmission or storage is perfectly secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security, but we work to protect your information and to address any incidents promptly.

8. Your rights, your choices & deletion

Because NEURAL CHESS uses only a random, client-generated identifier and stores no name, email, or other directly identifying information, the data we hold generally does not identify you as a person. Even so, we honor deletion and access requests:

  • Deleting the app deletes the device identifier from your device. Without it, the server-side data associated with that identifier can no longer be linked to you or accessed by anyone.
  • Server-side deletion — if you also want the server-side data (deck snapshot, match records, progression state) removed, email support@neuralchess.gg with your in-game identifier (shown in the game's settings) and we will delete it.

Depending on where you live — for example the EEA/UK under the GDPR, or California under the CCPA/CPRA — you may also have rights to access, correct, or export data, to object to or restrict certain processing, and to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority. You can exercise these rights by emailing support@neuralchess.gg. We will respond as required by applicable law and will not discriminate against you for exercising your rights.

California residents: we do not “sell” or “share” personal information as those terms are defined under the CCPA/CPRA.

9. Children’s privacy

NEURAL CHESS is not directed to children under 13 (or the minimum age of digital consent in your country, if higher). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children — and by design the game collects no name, email, or other directly identifying information from anyone. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, contact support@neuralchess.gg and we will delete it.

10. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time — for example if we add optional in-app purchases or new online features. When we do, we will revise the “Last updated” date above, and for material changes we will provide a more prominent notice. Continuing to use NEURAL CHESS after a change takes effect means you accept the updated policy.

11. Contact us

Questions or requests about this policy or your data: support@neuralchess.gg.

NEURAL CHESS currently contains no real-money purchases; if in-app purchases are added in the future, purchases will be processed by the app store you use (e.g. Google Play), and this policy will be updated to describe any related data handling. Your use of the game is also governed by our Terms of Service.
